Comments Thread For: Berto vs Zaveck in Play For September 3 on HBO

Former welterweight champion Andre Berto could return on September 3 against IBF beltholder Jan Zaveck. Berto (27-1, 21KOs) vs. Zaveck (31-1, 18KOs) would be televised by HBO. Zaveck's sole loss came in 2008, by way of a close split decision to Rafal Jackiewicz, which Zaveck later avenged in 2010. Berto would return for the first time since suffering the sole blemish on his record, which came in April when he dropped a twelve round unanimous decision to Victor Ortiz.

Zaveck is a good fighter, but Berto should win.

zavec beat this bum please. any idea where they will fight? slovenia is small but we have great sport fans. i'm sure zavec will get great support, esp. if the venue/place is an interesting tourist destination.

It will surely be in America. I'd imagine Foxwoods.

Al Haymon getting Berto a shot at a strap, just after he lost the WBC title? He has to have blackmail photos of Ross Greenburg lol.
