Comments Thread For: Valuev: Klitschko vs. Haye Was a Much Closer Fight

Former WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev felt the three judges who were assigned to last Saturday's big heavyweight unification in Hamburg, Germany, were far too generous with WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO champion Wladimir Klitschko. Reporter Alexander Pavlov quotes Valuev as stating in his recent blog that Klitschko was indeed the correct winner, but the actual fight was a lot close than the actual scorecards. The scores were 118-108, 117-109 and 116-110.

Wlad won, but tbh 118-108 and the 117-109 were too wide imo.

          Valuev is a self-hating white.

The rounds were very close so I see what he means.

Wlad won fair and square ...what surprised me tho was how well haye slipped out the way and dodged most of Wlads punches ...if haye would of fought more offensively than he did it might of been closer...that being said i had Wlad winning 10 rounds out of 12

I had it 117-111, didn't count the bs ruling on the knockdown. Also including wlads point deduction, which I felt he deserved. 9-2-1 on rounds. Wlad's jabs won him the rounds, I do believe people have been overly harsh on Hayes performance, and I think it's mainly people who don't understand him as a fighter. These are the same people who accuse him of not trying to win, which is just ridiculous, he was trying to take wlads head off the whole fight, and was still throwing bombs in the 12th round.

I think that Valuev is so tall that the air is getting thin and has lack of oxygen to the brain. Seriously tho, what did you expect Valuev to say of Haye since Haye defeated him using the same fight plan but couldnt come close to beating Wlad with it? Besides everyone know Valuev and Don King ran scared from the Klitschkos when they tried to get Valuev to fight them(can we say sour g****s?)
