In retrospect, Roy Jones, Jr was a perfect reflection of the state of boxing during the 1990’s. An exaggeration! We witnessed the flameout of the presumed invincible Mike Tyson. The emergence of Oscar DeLahoya as a champion for the ages until championship caliber opposition exposed him as a simply good, not great champion. Shane Mosely, whom I won’t call Sugar, was the two time conqueror of DeLahoya and stood atop the pound for pound pinnacle briefly. “Tito” Trinidad looked invincible, yet it wasn’t so. Now Floyd Mayweather holds the mythical “Pound for Pound” mantle. He is peerless as we speak yet undoubtedly there is a 21st century “Manos De Piedra” to test him and take his heart where it hasn’t been before. [details]
Jones Exits a Worthy, Not Great Champion

Fighters today dont get the respect they should because some old timers dont believe they are better than the guy in their generation.
Jones beat good fighters in Hopkins and Toney (find two better fighters in his generation)
Who did Joe Louis beat that was good? Dont get me wrong, Louis was great, but Roy Jones deserves a lot more respect.Comment

I actually thought it was a good article.
I thought Roy Jones Junior was disrespectfull to his fans... To get them all out to buy tickets/PPV only to pretend to be a chicken in the ring by flapping his arms, hitting his boots with his gloves, cat-calling, and sticking his tounge out.
Worst of all... In the interview after the fight he told us all that he was happy with his performance... He didn't mind losing so long as he lost on his feet.
Those are the words of a TRUE champion.
