Some good points made. Though I would add an important consideration.Froch said this to the BBC Sport: “I’m going to knock him [Ward] out. He’s not a big puncher. I’m a guy to put him on his back foot. It’s going to shock the world. It’s a fight I know I can win. I’m going to get under his skin and try and get him to come to me, and try to fight. That’s not going to be by trash talking; it’s going to be by telling him what I think of him, and what I strongly believe I can do to him.”
Let’s be real about this. Froch and Ward are on different levels. Froch is slow, lacks inside fighting ability and is easy to hit. Ward is a superb boxer with mad skills on both the outside and the inside. Ward will be able to pick whichever distance that suits him and do well against the slower Froch. This is a fight in which Ward has many different ways of beating Froch. For his part, Froch only has a puncher’s chance to win and even that’s not a good one because he’s not really a huge puncher.
Ward is going to destroy this guy
Froch has a proven chin and carries heavier hands. This is key because it could allow Froch to walk through Ward's shots and land some of his bombs. Can Ward's chin stand up?Comment

You could read this a different way....
Froch is just saying what we all know. That he can not win this fight on points. He's saying HE KNOWS he can't win it on points. Ward is by far the superior boxer. It has to be a KO and he has to draw Ward into an ugly slugfest to stand any chance of doing so.
That's how it reads to me.Comment

Froch has a proven chin? Well then how did a natural 160lber like Jermain Taylor dump him on his ass? Please. You MUST be British. The recent David Haye fight should have taught you not to believe the hype.Comment

He took the best right hands grandpa Johnson could throw and wasn't phased. Took some good ones from Kessler, too. I'd say he has a legit chin.Comment

I believe this 'walking thru' thing is mind games. It really is rare to see one boxer walk through another guys punches at elite level. (Hatton vs Tszyu was one of those occasions). Even a puncher with mediocre power but good timing and speed (which Ward has) can keep another more aggressive fighter backed up. Think, Khan for the first 9 rounds against Maidana.Comment

How is that not a proven chin? Taylor isn't feather fisted, he has pop on his punches. The fact he took all Taylor had, came back, and won the fight. Shows he has a proven chin and heart.
Now, I am not a brit either. I just stand FIRM.Comment

Hey, I'll say this much: He does have heart. But a sturdy chin? No way. Just like he has virtually no boxing ability.Comment
