Wlad has the belts he has because Vitali lets him have them. Vitali doesnt fight for trinkets, he fights to punish people for the audacity of thinking they can step into the ring with him. Without Vitali retiring for 4 years, Wlad would be in the background and Vitali would probably be a fairly large star even in the states. Vitali always wants to fight, he always wants to exchange and he has a huge punch output and a diverse amount of offensive options. He also doesnt carry with him the baggage of, "We never got to see him against a HOF" or "He has a weak chin." Literally the only 2 blemishes on his record are from a cut caused by an illegal punch and quitting while way up in a fight to prevent permanent injury to his shoulder. His even more Drago-esque personality also would appear more as he comes off more as an indestructible machine where as Wlad comes off more as a perfect technical robot (to american audiences...im a huge fan of both). Wlad is too nice, speaks English too well, and comes off as somewhat a dork in interviews.
This is an example of the two brothers that sums it all up:
Wlad: "I am going to give David Haye a pizza face."
Vitali: "Come fight me Valuev. Being a slave to fear is the worst kind of slavery, remember this or pick another sport."
Vitali is freakin scary. His stare down of Sam Peter in 08? Find me a more intimidating stare down. You cant.
I have no doubt that Vitali will be offensive and make a show of the Adamek fight.Comment

You, my friend, are the stuff of legends! I'm still laughing at your so, so true comment! Vitali is indeed scary! Like another user said, he is remorseless, fearless, iron chinned and the quote says it all.Wlad has the belts he has because Vitali lets him have them. and man, this is so true. when I heard that 1 minute speech in Russian, I was actually thinking to translate that into English for BS. Im not even kidding, I am myself pretty strong mentally, do sports etc..and when I heard that speech he made me creep. Vitali is real deal, he is my idol and I don't even care what others think about himWlad has the belts he has because Vitali lets him have them. Today Wladimir is far better than his old brother. Yes Vitali throws more but hes slower and its getting easier to hit him as he gets older because he relies on reflexes. But his still the second best after his brother. He will beat Adamek by late KO but Adamek will land some punches and maybe even win some rounds. So hes right it will not be boring.Comment

Vitali is a beast. He'll deliver on his promise I'm sure. Unlike Wlad, Vitali isn't scared to throw down when necessary. Vitali has the true heart of a champion.
Its sad that his brother gets all the media attention when CLEARLY Vitali is the much better fighter.Comment

Agreed. A real shame Vitali was out for those years, that would have been prime years too. Even Wlad admits he's the 'weaker brother', and there's a good reason Haye ran scared of Vitali. There's also a reason Lewis didn't take a remacth. Adamek could be a great fight though.Wlad has the belts he has because Vitali lets him have them.
