Comments Thread For: Erik Morales Will Pursue Year-End Shot After Crolla

Former three division champion Erik Morales (51-7, 35KOs) will once again pursue a fourth divisional title. Morales will face English boxer Anthony Crolla (21-2, 9KOs) on September 17 as part of the Floyd Mayweather-Victor Ortiz pay-per-view undercard at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Morales wants to return at the end of the year, in November or December, is a junior welterweight title fight. Morales is hoping to get a shot at the WBC title, which is currently owned by Timothy Bradley, which may become vacant if the champion doesn't schedule a fight in the near future.

They are stripping Bradley of his belt. Erik Morales is going for that belt - I'll bet all my remaining points to it. WBC is such a scam.

Amir Khan have the WBA belt. So, you are technically wrong. Champions who hold a belt of another organization cannot compete for a vacant belt.

So no unification unless Timmy makes a defense soon?

                What the absolute fuck?

Did they just put British fighters in a hat and draw names out?

                Seriously?

Crolla is a young prospect though, I hope he smashes Morales to hell.

This fight is worse than Alvarez-Hatton/Rhodes, Martinez-Barker.

                  It's even worse than Wlad-Chisora.

I just can't fathom how they've arrived at Crolla, why not someone experienced or tested that they know can last more than 2 rounds?

Why pick out a lightweight and fight him at 140?

Do they really need that many advantages?

Abysmal fight, does nothing for either man.
