Mundine and Jones Jr fighting styles, -clones-

I just finished watching tapes of Roy Jones Jr -Tarver 3 and Anthony Mundine-Kessler and I must say it is remarkable as to how similar Anthony Mundine and Roy Jones Jr fighting styles are.

Now don’t get me wrong here, I know in Jones Jr hay day he was a king compared to Mundine. But in terms of there fighting styles I think it would be fair to say that these 2 are clones, just watching tapes of them both fight is like watching the same fighter.

Both fighters have the same stance in that they hold there left hand at their hip, with their right hand actually in front of the left but held across their chest in the position that their left hand should actual be in, very unorthodox, but very unique. Both Mundine and Jones Jr do this in the exact same manner, and it’s a way that they set their lead right hand, as well as drawing their opponent in to be countered. In their stance they seem to crouch over the same as well, in like a head bobbing movement. Game rooster style.

Then you have the feinting, both are identical in this regard. Both are supreme athletes and have great skills in feinting. But both do it in an identical manner.

Lead right hands, both Mundine and Jones Jr do this exactly the same. Both fighters seem to become more front on just before throwing the lead right hand, if you watch them both enough you can pretty much tell when they will throw a lead right because of there body language before doing so.

It is a unique style that both Mundine and Jones Jr fight with. Both are blessed with tremendous hand speed. Mundine would currently have P4P the fastest hands, and Jones Jr in his prime had P4P the fastest hands. This enables both fighters to pull of this unique fighting style. Both fighters head movement is also tremendous, they see punches so well.

Of course both fighters have suspect chins, this probably contributes to there cautious fighting styles and low punch output.

Both Roy Jones Jr and Anthony Mundine share a unique fighting style, there are no other fighters in the world that fight like this.

I tell you now, watch the tapes, its amazing the same characteristics. Both fighters are trained by Roy Jones Sr.

I am interested in people opinions on this matter.

Rubbish. Mundine may think he's RJJ, but he's nowhere close. Their styles are not similar.
RJ senior has barely spent time with Mundine, and apart from this past fight, hasn't trained Roy for years.

For god's sake 'theman' do you have to bring your Mundine nutlicking to this forum as well?

The comparison is styles only, not comparing Mundines ability, talent or otherwise to RJJ.

Both fighters are at different levels. Jones is an ATG whereas Mundine is still coming to terms with fighting at world class level after starting boxing at 25yo.

My post was not intended to be a nut hugging post. I was just interested to see what people thoughts are on this topic (fighting technique) are that have seen Mundine fight lately.

It's a legit pic, but it's not a shark - it's a bottlenose dolphin. The guy who took the pic has a website where he's basically had to post to the world (and still no one wants to believe him) that it's a dolphin, not a shark.

Depends which day you ask Mundine.
Some days he says he's been fighting ever since he was a kid.
Some days (usually when he fails, or fights bums, or looks bad) he says 'I've only been doing this for a few years'.
