    A catchweight isn't required until both men sign a contract agreeing to it. You're always required to come in at the set weight and you're penalized if you don't.

      Coming in overweight is way more disrespectful than having a catchweight. A catchweight is made because both men/boxers agreed to the weight. Coming in overweight means the guilty party never took the other fighter seriously competition wise and in the mental game as well.
