Wlad was piss poor last Saturday and that performance hasn't gotten him any more fans.I would bet HBO will go back to not being interested in him or the heavyweight division soon enough.

Wlad was more cautious than his usual boring pondering self,he out pointed the smaller man by using his height, weight and reach advantage, his unwillingness to engage in any meaningful trades was indicative of why the heavweight division is in the state it is today.

Wlads biggest night as a professional boxer, the perfect time to shine and show the millions watching what the number 1 heavy in the world can do. But what did he do? He jabbed the much smaller man to a clear points win.
    Not entirely fair.

    GOOD POINTS FOR WLAD:

    1. He showed he doesn't have a "glass chin," as Haye did nail him hard and flush a couple of times and Wlad took the punches well.

    2. He didn't clinch much at all compared to previous fights.

So Wlad refuted two of the criticisms always brought against him.

    NEGATIVE POINT FOR WLAD:

He still was too cautious when it looked like he could knock Haye out. Could have pressed a bit more and gone for it. Against Vitali, Haye gets knocked out. Haye would also have a problem with a big, strong pressure fighter like the newly dedicated Cris Arreola, who has a great chin.

Haye only wants things the easy way -- he's not going to do anything so difficult as fight some real contenders.

I'll be very pissed at Wlad if he gives this clown a rematch without making him earn it by beating Arreola or Helenius.

You have brought up some good points.

I don't think Haye ever landed flush, nevertheless Wlad stood tall and didn't crumble like many thought he would.

Wlad wasn't allowed to grab though, Every time Wlad started leaning on Haye, Haye went limp and fell to the floor, pretty good tactics I thought.

I think a rematch is the only way forward. Both fighters are disappointed with their individual performances, Both sets of fans and neutrals came away unhappy,Haye fans more so.

The fight left more questions than answers and I think a quick rematch to settle things once and for all might be the best thing to do.

Wlad can start on the PR, saying this time he will knock out David, and he has unfinished business, and wants to teach him a lesson blah, blah, blah.

Haye can give us all updates regarding his toe.
