Jones is also being considered as an opponent in the near future for WBO welterweight champion and revealed that although he would prefer some more experience before a fight of such magnitude, he would be ready if called upon for that challenge.

Hard to disagree with anything Jones said there.

Why do people even come and bother with this site or boxing in general? You have a nice interview with a young, exciting, top 10 fighter in a pretty good division and people just bash the hell out of him. Mikes only been fighting for 5 years, had this been Pacquaio in his first 5 years you would all be saying who this nobody was. Sometimes I think people just come on here to ride glory of their countrymen or bash people they don't like. Majority of the people on this site don't even watch boxing.

Jones is solid alright, and he comes across like a real good guy.

But I can see why he has not gained a significant fanbase as yet.

And the blowout in the first Karass fight did him no favors at all, an immediate rematch was crucial. But he is knocking on the door now, his next 2-3 fights are likely the most important of his career.

I got to say I did not think a rematch was needed after the first Karass fight, but I was happy he did it showed his Championship heart imo..Jones is exciting and skilled,he will get fans when the time is right..I agree his next 2-3 fights are very important for him..

Refreshingly great and respectful interview from a young fighter. Mike Jones can only endear himself to the fans with interviews like this.

                  Kidding Romey ?

That rematch was vital for two reasons.

1.) he needed to actually beat Karass convincingly
2.) he needed to give that " win " some credibility

It is hard to imagine Arum talking about a potential Pacquiao/Jones clash immediately after the first Karass fight. He would have been laughed at.

Even Pacquiao's stablemates know who the real P4P King is.
