I read a very recent Manny Steward interview in which he said that Monte Barrett whom Haye had such difficulty with (inc.a KD I think) was KO'd by WK about 10 years ago when in his prime. Also, Haye had been KO'd by Ofalabi, Klitschko's sparring partner. Also, that they had Barrett as a sparring partner about 3 years ago, and had to send him home after a couple of days because he couldn't stand up to the sparring.

THAT sounds more like a standard Haye opponent.

I don't know how old Bonin was, in fact until then I'd never heard of Bonin. I think he gets an OAP cheque every month though. or maybe it's a disability Pension. It would have to be one or the other to make him an acceptable opponent for Haye.

I agree that Haye has never beaten a top quality Heavyweight. But neither have Wlad or Vitali. It's not their fault as they can only fight what's available, but let's be honest Freedom (as I have been about the shame of Haye's in-ring antics and post fight excuses), neither Klit has ever beaten an elite fighter, that's just a fact sorry.

I'm not trying to flame you, Wlad was better than Haye, and I now respect Wlad more as fighter, but you can't claim to be great by beating the worst crop of heavyweights in memory sorry.

Haye owes it to the British fans to fight on. And not on PPV.

Haye owes it to the British fans to refund every single pay per view purchase after diving and falling around the ring like a Frenchman.

Those wins would all be considered "elite" (and were at one point) but for being completely embarrassed by Wlad. They were all around 30, all recent world champs, all made to look like harmless fools.

His biggest fault is that he makes his opponents look ridiculously bad and most people who watch the HW division don't follow careers, they just watch the title fight and measure the challenger based on that fight.

Bonin was a clubfighter that Audley Harrison KOed (before Haye fought him).

I just looked him up. He was about 38 had a "good" record about 32-1. But of the 32 wins about 15 of them were with guys who'd had only 1 or no wins or fights. In fact the very fight before haye, was against a guy who was having his FIRST fight. the one before was a guy wo had a record of 6-18. Bonin is Polish. But we can see what sort of rubbish he really is. Perfect as an opponent for Haye, who thrives on such garbage.

You can always tell how good a guy is by the level of his opponents, AND, very importantly, the opponents of his opponents.

Rocky Marciano's record is a GOOD example of this sort of fake buildup. I know that there are some who think Marciano is wonderful....but just look up the opponents of his opponents.
