Lujan is a grinder, he just keeps working and working even if he isn't the most refined boxer out there.

Melligen was sharp as a tack early on and easily won the first 3 rounds of the fight, however, Lujan's constant pressure and machismo lead to Melligen's unraveling and mental breakdown. It was kind of surprising because Melligen was the much more skilled fighter and Lujan has such a crude style where he leaves himself open 50% of time and his his punches are wide and clubbing. It goes to show ya that boxing is a sport where mental toughness goes along way and sometimes and can trump skill..Last edited by BostonGuy; 07-03-2011, 07:41 PM.

Fighters like Lujan, Carlos Molina, and Brian Vera aren't the most skillful fighters out there; however, if you're not in prime condition you will be taken out by them. It's that simple!

He would limp to the line and throw a wild, funny looking shot, but I didn't laugh as I payed him his money.
