    Looking back Roy Jones is appreciated

    The funny thing about Roy Jones is that I respect his legacy more now that his career is over. He was a great asset to boxing. He might have not been the greatest but he truly was great.

      I'm not sure why people want to tear down Roy Jones Jr so badly. When he leaves the sport, it will be a big loss for boxing. You won't say anyone doing the things Roy did in the ring for a long time. People can make a case that he wasn't great, and even though I don't agree, I would understand. But, looking back, you have to at least appreciate the the athleticism and the showmanship he brought into the ring. Prime Roy Jones had more confidence in the ring than any fighter I've ever seen. I think it's sad to see someone who brought so many new fans to the sport, and someone who fought for so many years, and provided so many highlight reels that will keep bringing people to boxing for years to come, get torn to pieces by a bunch of people on the internet who will never step foot into the ring.

        The problem with Roy is he was one of the most physically gifted boxers ever to lace em up. He had it all

        He was too cautious with his career and avoided anything that seemed like a challenge(except for Tarver III and he was an even bigger ***** that night)

        He could have been an all-time great but he fell way short of that.

        Roy=Wasted talent.

              I don't care what anyone says Roy was and is an all time great.Just the fact he won titles in what 5 different divisions and won a heavyweight title should be proof enough and who cares if it was against Ruiz none of these other fighters could do it including Tarver.

                Like I said...he wasn't the greatest. But based on his accomplishments-he is great. I don't like the fact that people are talking about him now like he was pure garbage...which is not the case- he had talent.
