man i hope haye doesn't retire. early in the fight, i thought we were witnessing the changing of the guard! the birth of a star! david's speed and feints were looking phenominal against wlad! you have to understand, wlad is a beast, a monster! and to see david, a cruiserweight, dropping his hands, slipping and ducking punches while talking to wlad was a sight to see. he brings an excitement to the heavyweight division even in defeat. david may not have cut wlad's head off but wlad didn't punish him like he vowed he would either. and please don't be blinded by hbo commentary. david moved, like the smaller fighter was supposed to. it was good fight imo. a skilled fight. not two lumbering giants in there throwing wild punches, thinking knockout with every swing. it was tactical. hats off to david for stepping up to the challenge and coming very close to the threshold of greatness. he comes out of this fight more elevated than klit imo. bad toe or not, he was the only one to seriously hurt his opponent during that fight. don't retire david! without you, we're left with two champions, fighting 2nd and 3rd-ranked opponents because they refuse to fight each other!Last edited by texasboi15; 07-03-2011, 11:09 AM.

After the big build-up and dud of a performance Haye comes across like some snake oil peddler who are being exposed can either get out of town with his tail between his legs or fight his way back into title contention by beating all other potential opponents until he's the last man standing.

This fight was a whitewash and boxing doesn't need a replay of it. Haye needs to earn a rematch by (gasp!), actually BEATING a top contender.
Give him Arreola's phone # and tell him to start talking.

Haye's past 5 fights have all been contenders for the most boring in the division. He has the lowest compubox punch output. He uses his pinky toe as an excuse for losing a fight after spending 4 years threatening to decapitate his opponent.
And you'd rather rewatch this boring imbecile get jabbed by wlad for another 12 rounds than fights between Povetkin, Chambers, Adamek, Boystov, Helenius? The real reason people think heavyweights suck so much is because, like welterweight right now, it attracts casual fans who only watch title fights.
Haye vs ANY legit top 20 heavyweight would be a much more interesting fight than a pointless rematch with Wlad. We haven't seen that. We saw him fight 4 WBA clowns at their "farewell matches" then predictable lose in the standard fashion to Wlad. Nobody can even pretend to know how good Haye is at heavyweight because nobody has seen him in a competitive 2-sided fight since he was a cruiser.Last edited by Toe Injury; 07-03-2011, 11:09 AM.

Haye landed the Ooohs and Aaaahs shots
Totally boring fight. Klitschko didn't do anything to win appeal, and Haye failed to deliver on his promise.
When Haye took chances he was hitting Klitschko with big shots that seemed to affect him. But it was too few and far between to be significant.
Just to categorize where the heavyweight division is, Tony Thompson's fight a few weeks ago had more action and entertainment that what we saw on Saturday in Germany.
