Haye should fight Vitali and IF he wins, which I dont think he will. Then a Wlad rematch would be justified.
Otherwise nah. -
No.
If Haye really wants anyone to take him seriously he basically needs to start over at heavyweight and work his way up the ranks fighting guys like Povetkin, Chambers, Adamek, Boystov, etc, to sort the division out and show where he stands.
Out of the 4 mediocre fighters Haye fought to get to Wlad, all 4 (Barrett, Valuev, Ruiz, Harrison) were retiring due to age or medical issues and just had some leftover "name value".
This wasn't some sort of a coincidence, it was obviously planned around that from day one, and with all the retirement threats on his own part, seeing that easy road to huge $$$ was probably the only reason he jumped to HW in the first place, because the WBA would allow him to barely beat retirees then make a massive payday losing to Wlad.
How does a guy who didn't deserve a title shot in the first place deserve an rematch after losing by easy decision?
On the other hand fights with Povetkin, Adamek, Chambers are actually somewhat interesting.
On a related note, that is one good thing Haye did; we're finally done with that ridiculous separate WBA heavyweight champion who was always ranked like 10-15 spots below the main champion.Last edited by Toe Injury; 07-03-2011, 10:18 AM.Comment

Boxingking is a Wlad fan I have figured out and occassionally makes little digs at Vitali. Vitali has shown nothing to me that he is vulnerable at all and if he is in the same shape he's been in I think Vitali kills Haye. He could grow old over night, but until a guy who has increased his pace over 12 rounds in his last fights, hasnt lost a round in 8 years or so, and has never been knocked down, gets in any sort of trouble...im not picking anyone to beat him.Comment

with or without broken toe, Haye made that fight exciting. at least for those who understand boxing. he had some wild punches, but he was landing on Wlad indeed. with that said, I hope he doesn't retire, get few wins over Arreola, Povetkin, Boytsov and CHambers. Then he can rematch Wlad for his last paycheck. Or he could of talk his way to Vitali now, since big Vit about to retire in 1-2 fightsComment
