    Sugar Ray Leonard

Just finished reading his autobiography and i thoroughly enjoyed it,great insight into his life and well worth a read. But can you please excuse my ignorance here,he was saying that prior to his fight with **** Eklund he should have known to expect all the racist slurs from the audience as when he arrived at the airport he was greeted by a priest who asked him "How are you boy?"

Again excuse my ignorance but is "Boy" considered to be a racist slur in America? I've heard it get said all my life to people, all white.

"Boy" would be referring to something that is a pet or a slave.

Lots of people refer to their dogs as "boy".

In those times I think a white person would call a black man "boy" to belittle him or if they think nothing of him.

These days white men are called "boy" because its one of those reverse flips that black people have done.
