Originally posted by oj21I just got a question for the Pac fans, why is it that whenever a thread regarding MAB is brought up, all you guys, no wait A LOT OF YOU GUYS (sorry), are quick to attack the MAB fans? Now yes Pac beat MAB, he beat the **** out of him, but other than that horrible night can you guys actually say he has not had a great carreer? So what if he chooses not to rematch Pac? I understand what you all are saying that it is about the pride and all, but come on not all threads regarding MAB have to end up being a "Manny beat the **** out MAB" thread. Now would I like to see a rematch? YES, I would love to see it, I want to see if MAB really had an off-night or if Manny really has his number. Me personally, I think it was an off-night. But I will say this, if the rematch does happen, it will be a hell of a fight.

I agree 100%, but my question was why all the MAB bashing? I mean even on the RJJ threads there isn't as much hatred towards RJJ. Why? Because he rematched AT? Just look what happened to him. Knocked out cold in first rematch, and lost again in the third fight. I just want to know why all the hatred.

However, there are lot of us who are fans of MAB, like myself. I saw him defeat Naseem Hamed. I saw him beat Morales, twice (maybe three times). There's many of us who do respect the man and you'll notice me defending him a lot.

think of it like this. berrera has:
won titles in 3 weight classes.
only been stopped once.
been in the fight of the year twice.
beaten fighers like erik morales, naseem hamed, kevin kelley, paulie ayala, johnny tapia, and robbie penden.
66 fights in 16 years of boxing.
been fighting since he was 15 years old.
been and is considered one of the best p4p fighters in the world.
nothing else to prove.
i think he should take one or two more superfights and retire.

Originally posted by air_kengsorry if you feel that way man, we're just reacting to what MAB fans say... like kimmy, telling us that pac is a nobody is unacceptable t us and adoring MAb like his life depended on him... cause and effect... we respect barrera, but if you want us to respect him better, acknowledge pac and don't downplay him like he has not done anything for boxing...
I agree, Pac is a good fighter. I don't know if we can say he is a great fighter yet. He is still young and has a lot left in him. Would you agree with me saying that? Would you agree with me saying that MAB is a great fighter? I guess I am trying to be peace maker between both sides. I can tell both sides respect each others fighter, as far as their carreer is concerned. But I guess the arguement is always going to be, "What would happen in a MAB Pac rematch?" Even when and if it happens their will be excuses from the losing side, so their is not point arguing about it.

Wait a second don't get on the offensive so quickly, I just wanted to ask the question. I'm not saying that there wasn't reasons for Pac fans not to like him, I just wanted to know why? I know that a lot of Pinoys respect and like MAB, just like there are a lot of Mexicanos that like Pac, but both sides are hesitant to admit it. I like both fighters, but can honestly say that to date, MAB has had the better carreer. That's not taking anything away from Pac either. I mean just look at who we are comparing him with.

1. Perhaps because MAB first said he had an off night
2. Then said he didn't want to fight a Morales "left over"
He's defeated other fighters before and they never said a thing after the fight was over, and thus, no challenge from Pac and his Fans.

Barrera is a great,great fighter.
But he has a black mark on his resume.
That was his defeat to Pac.
Pac is offering him the chance to redeem himself.
He declines to take the rematch.
However he makes alot of noise about not taking leftovers, not being himself, that it was an off night...blah...blah...blah....
Then for his own sake ,he better prove it!
Obviously, someone is afraid.
And it sure aint PAC.
