The fight that could have re-ignited widespread interest back into the sport ended up being a stinker, mainly thanks to Haye's negative tactics in which he gave himself no chance to win the fight. Had he gone in there trying to do what he promised then the fight would have likely ended up a KO, to either guy and perhaps people would have jumped back on board the boxing train.
Instead you had a great champ, totally un-entertaining to watch for most people, make light work of just another victim in the weakest of the most prestigious division in a dwindling sport.
The disappointing thing is, this fight didn't have to end this way, Haye had to the tools coming into this fight to test Wlad really early, and Wlad had the ability and the momentum to take Haye out late.
What we were left with was a sad portrait of what lies ahead for the heavyweight division, perfunctory Klitschko dominance with not a single threat on the horizon.
