So they can be certain that it is dry? Aren't there other fights on this card? It'll probably get wet during the undercard fights, thus the need for a new canvass.

Because the rain is slightly blowing onto the ring.

But the accumulative effect means that by the time they fight it may have built up. Hence it will be re-canvassed.

If anyone bothered to look at the footage you'll see they're saying it's only blowing onto it very slightly. After all the promotion and expense, it won't be called off for that.

It should be fine. They'll do the undercard, and maybe postpone the bout 30-60 minutes if they have to and see if the rain lets up.
