    Biggest fights of the 'generation'

A friend of mine who is a boxing fan claimed that Haye-Wlad is the biggest fight for over a generation. Even Haye himself said that it's the biggest fight for a decade. I know the heavyweight division attracts more casual fans but I disagreed with my friend. I understand that this is partly due to British ignorance of overseas fights.

Can we try and come up with 10 fights bigger than this one over the last, say, 15 years?

Well, for a kick off there is both of Mayweather's 2007 fights against Oscar and Ricky.

If we are talking heavyweight only then no there aren't any bigger fights this generation. Now if we are talking about all divisions there have been some, but just in terms of size and hype not many.

Wasn't Lewis-Tyson bigger? I was pretty young back then but I remember huge hype. Mayweather's fights with DLH and Hatton I agree were bigger too. I don't think any Calzaghe or Khan fights have achieved the same level of hype. Perhaps a couple of Pacquiao's have, how about Hopkins or Jones?
