And, he's a first ballot HOF'er. Lets not get it twisted. It would be a crime if the mofo didn't get in the HOF on his first try. But, like you said those jokers want to talk about how great of a fighter he was. When you and I and anybody who actually follow the sport back then know he wasn't.. I saw him on his hay day. I know the circumstances of his fights. I'm not like this noobs who goes to boxrec and are impressed by the names.

He was a popular. And, in term of popularity he was on the level of Floyd and Pac. But, as a fighter he's was never on their level.

Let me make my stance clear, I was never a De la Hoya fan. The only fight that I rooted for him in was the Hopkins fight, and even that fight was always pretty su****ious to me.

But as far as him as a fighter, he really did fight everyone. Who was going out there and trying to make fights with Quartey and Mosley at the time he fought them? Those were some very risky fights for him, and they turned out to be good.

I always held it against him that he would get these close decisions in fights that I didn't feel there was an even playing field with the judges, like Quartey, Whitaker and Sturm, but he fought everyone and you can't take that from him.

He carried the sport financially for a long time, and did it with a smile while giving everyone a chance to shine, like he did with Mosley and Pacquiao.

In wrestling terminology, he was the one who put Mosley and Pacquiao over.

Hold on...When did he fight Quartey? After Quartey looked vulnerable against "Maestrito" Lopez...And, then even then...Lets not forget about the "cut" which made Quartey come from the longest inactivity period of his career.

And, Mosley was jumping to WW, skipping JWW and didn't look dominant in both fights he had at WW. Hence why Oscar was the big favorite. And, was expected to win and dominate Mosley. The Mosley fight at the time was a pretty big upset...

Quartey did have a lot of issues with Lopez, but don't forget, he dominated that fight until he got caught. In fact, Quartey looked about as good as he had ever looked against Lopez until he slowed down and started eating left hooks. So what should Oscar have done, not fought him and gave him an opportunity?

Mosley stepped up to 147 from 135 for a big fight, yeah he stepped all the way up. And he won, but why didn't he go back to 140?

I remember asking Shane this question, and he basically told me that he couldn't make 135 anymore and that even making 140 would have hurt him, so in reality he was fighting in his proper weight class at 147.

I can agree Asian my man, that Oscar did carry the sport once the HW division started to cool, then went ice cold. The paragraph in which I bolded the 3 fighters Bazooka, Sweat Pea, and Felix. Those fights, and fighting a past it JCC is why I dont put ODH at ATG status. I was rooting for BHop(and he didnt let me down. That shot to the liver was one of the most beautiful body shots I've seen). But hell I dont hold it against you, if given the oppurtunity, I'd take a pic with ODH.

I also have a pic with Pacquiao, doesn't mean I'm endorsing him as the greatest fighter ever.

Oh yea Jro bruh. He is a defo HOF'er. He's resume alone is gonna do it for him not to mention his impact on the sport as a whole. I remember when he came out of the olympics, they where touting him to be the best thing since sliced bread in the same manner they touted Sweet Pea, and Mark Breland. I dont think he lived up to either one of them in regards to skill levle possesed in the ring.
