Against a combination/counter puncher like JMM? I was watching a re run of Golpe a Golpe and Nacho Beristain was a guess host. They conducted an interview in which he acknowledged Manny's improvements but he said it's no threat, in fact an advantage.
At that very moment i was a skeptic until he explained the reason behind his statement. He claims that in the first 2 fights Manny was an awkward fighter due to his bouncing and speed. His stamina was monstrous and it wasnt so much his power that caught JMM by surprise, but his angles that were very difficult to predict. Thus he KD several times. He also said his bouncing back and forth made it difficult to counter properly.
He says he's bouncing before throwing a right or what not. Right when he does so he leaves himself open and that's when JMM can dominates and uses his intelligence to execute a proper counter.
Manny has gained speed and better technically. His hooks are cleaner and crisp and so are his right hand punches. Before this JMM was the one that lead the fight. JMM had to try to guess and estimate Manny's punches...but now it will be easier to predict since Manny is a bit more technical.
What it boils down to...since JMM doesnt have to worry about Manny's animalistic speed and awkwardness as much since he became more technical...does that mean JMM is more comfortable this time around than before? Will he be able to counter more effectively? Or will he get KTFO?
