It is funny that you left off byrd by KO but I have to go with Toney by UD in a great fight. They match up well and both are very good boxers..Toney is better on the inside and that should be the difference IMO.

This is a fight that's been brewing a long, long time and NEEDS to happen. It will be the most important heavyweight fight of the last 5 years and probably for 5 years after it. This is the fight to determine the man in the division.

          You have a point.

A draw would have been better served as an option than a Byrd KO.

But I stick to my guns. Toney works Byrd enough to the body to score a late round TKO.

After watching Toney against Guinn finally, I'm changing my prediction. Toney by decision. Toney works through a round from start to finish while Byrd is known to coast and try to steal rounds in the last twenty seconds or so. That wouldn't work with the active Toney who fought Guinn. Some good points were made about Byrd's diminishing mobility as well.

Byrd in his prime would likely UD Toney though.

there is no way we're going to see a KO, or even a knockdown... i do think it'll be a competitive, but boring, fight... their skills are evenly matched, i dont think one fighter is going to dominate the other..

Because Byrd already made a public announcement that he wants to retire
                  and Toney is 37!

The winner of this fight will definitely takeover the division for the next 5 years to come! 'F' them Klitschkos, Brewsters, Peters, Brocks, etc..

I agree with you: The outcome of Byrd vs. Toney is the future!

Also How The F... can this be a..."fight that's been brewing a long, long time and NEEDS to happen. It will be the most important heavyweight fight of the last 5 years"

If Toney has only been a heavyweight for 2 years?

You are such a tool and you don't even know it

I've been following boxing since before 2004. Back in 2003, Toney, after beating the **** out of Jirov and ruining his career, called Byrd out. It's been a war of words ever since. Almost 3 years it's been going on.

Simple. These are the two best heavyweights in the world, both former middleweights. How embarrassing is that to the rest of the division?
