Comments Thread For: John Molina Knows That He Must Have Better Defense

When a fighter is ranked in the top 10 by all four major governing bodies, he probably should have better defense than John Molina showed last Friday when he stopped not-so-heavy-hitting Robert Frankel after five rounds in the lightweight main event at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Calif.

His head is easy to hit because it's so damn big.

Molina's head is massive, theres not much he can do for defense b/c he's a goofy off balanced fighters with a big right hand great for FNF. John gives as good as he takes so I'm surprised Lightweigt champs do use him for easy defenses.

it's good he likes to brawl and put on a show, but man, he really needs to cover his face and move his head. he won't make it to the top of any division with a style like that, smarter fighters will just pick him apart the way he fights now. hopefully he improves...

This guy really is a slight notch above awful!!! He's really lucky he hits so damn hard and is able to take a punch. Without that, he'd be nothing (pretty obvious, I know). Fighters like him (i.e., Margarito and Segura) really do stand a higher chance of getting seriously injured in this sport. I've been following his career for a few years now and I can honestly say he hasn't improved much (technically)... At the same time, though, he does have a chance of earning a title if he can continue to make 135 lbs. and is able to continue to take punishment... Another thing is, he makes for great fights!!!

I donīt care how much he gets hit. He has the mexican style of going forward like a kamikaze. Thatīs what people like, and thatīs something african-americans donīt and canīt do. Mexicans have power and good chins, itīs better than moving lika a lizard around the ring and having no resistance.
