What can De La Hoya possibly do to beat Taylor and Williams?
Assuming the fight happens at 160, Taylor can't make 154, so it would have to be 160. No way De La Hoya beats Jermain Taylor at 160. DLH looked like crap at 160 in both of his fights there. What makes you think he would all of sudden look good against Jermain Taylor? The former Middleweight Champion, who dethroned Bernard Hopkins, who hadn't lost since 1993 before that. I know styles make fights, and Taylor beating Hopkins, and Hopkins beating Hoya, doesn't mean Taylor would beat Hoya. It's just, DLH does not look good at 160, period. He is a 154 fighter.
Williams could fight like he's 3 feet tall. Williams style is all wrong for De La Hoya.
Let's not forget, and again I know styles make fights, but let's not forget Paul Williams beat prime Antonio Margarito...Who DLH avoided, to fight Manny Pacquiao in 2008. That is relevant because although DLH is a better boxer than Margarito, Williams showed in that fight that he 'had' a iron chin and just comes forward throwing lots of punches. Could DLH have handle that? I don't think so.
But that's the 2007 DLH. I would easily pick prime DLH over current Williams.
