I have to favor Marg in the rematch. We know Cotto can't fight going backwards and Marg is going to come forward all night. In their fist fight, they were both prime fighters and it was a great fight but the pressure eventually wore down Cotto who was much more active and mobile back then.

Now Cotto doesn't throw nearly as much and is getting hit more and more. There's no doubt that Cotto will outbox and win the early rounds, the question is, can he hold off for a full 12?

At this stage of his career, I would have to say no. It's a bad style match up for him and if even the same Marg that came in against Pac comes in against Cotto, we are seeing another brutal fight in which Cotto ends up getting stopped.

Lots of peopel say Cotto was never the same after the first fight.. and thats a true sstatement but at least he has looked pretty good even in defeat to Paquiao he did decent. I think the same can be said for Margo and even more so.. Margo has not been the same fighter since the war with Cotto . Although Margo won that fight lets not forget Cotto landed lots of powerful shots on him that night and Margo has never been the same. Lots of people saying F this fight, not me I want to see if Margo can do the same thing to an older, slower, heavier Cotto.

Im one of the few Cotto fans that would agree with you on that point. However, I also suspect he cheated in the first fight with loaded gloves. Which iswhy I want to see this fight so bad.

Can Miguel Cotto's fans genuinely say they're looking forward to Cotto's second inevitable beating at the hands of Antonio Margarito? I mean,when Margarito does beat Cotto to a bloody pulp this time,excuses and unfounded claims of tampered wraps won't have any credibility this time around(not that they did have any in the first place,mind you - haters gonna hate,as most of you would know by now.)




Like it or not,when Margarito proves his supremacy the second time around,much of the controversy surrounding Margarito's first victory will gradually fade away and most will simply acknowledge that Cotto could never cope with the relentless pressure,highly conditioned,iron-willed,high-volume punching style of a true Mexican warrior in Antonio Margarito.




Margarito will finally put to rest the sorry state that is the current Puerto Rican boxing scene.It's had it's great run - the merciful thing to do would be to simply put it out of it's misery to save further shame.Segura inflicted the fatal wound;Salido dug the grave;Arce dumped the corpse;Margarito fills that grave.These Mexican warriors - they're just too Mexican for Puerto Rico's current finest.

I can tolerate all those losses. Cotto is my favorite fighter, to watch him lose...by TKO...to a Mexican...Margarito, especially...I'm gonna' be too depressed to post here for a few days.

Cotto just doesn't have the legs to do what Pacquiao did, which was use the ring and box Marg's eye off. Cotto might be able to do it for 4-5 rounds but Marg will still be getting at him.

Unless Steward has worked wonders, or Marg is a cracked shell of his former self I see the fight playing out the same way it did the first time except ending a round or 2 earlier.

I could be wrong though, and the first fight was great which is why i want to see this fight
