I beleive that's a poor excuse.with 30+ MILLION viewers there's no reason to throw an independent ppv honestly.hes a cash cow.good enough to host at least one fight.with the way hes also getting paid also they may be over doing it.he may end up like berto, alexander if he steps up to comp and lose, another reason why they're avoiding certain fighters.

I agree, Golden Boy just sayin the right thing - no way Alvarez fights Williams. Golden Boy is lookin for the fights with the least amount of risk, which is why you hear the names Alphonso Gomez and Ricardo Mayorga. And now that he got his mandatory wit Rhodes out of the way, you can be sure that his next 1-2 fights will be against guys the caliber of Gomez and Mayorga.

I hope they don't go with Gomez, I know they might want to showcase Canelo in a big event but they have to make it competitive. If he steals the show against a very good opponent the sky is the limit for him.
