Comments Thread For: Canelo vs Williams-Lara Winner Would Be Entertained

The promoters of a July 9 junior middleweight clash of southpaws between former three-time world champion Paul Williams and unbeaten Erislandy Lara would be interested in matching the winner opposite undefeated WBC king Saul Alvarez, according to indications by each during a recent conference call promoting the Williams-Lara bout that is slated for Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall.

Its also very unlikely to happen this year,As hbo have spent the majority
of its budget on the super fight alexander-bradley.

I like the idea of Alvarez fighting the winner of Lara/Williams.

This is the fight I want to see happen, and will finally face Canelo with a world class opponent.

Would be a great fight whoever he gets to fight, but personally I hope it is Williams, as I think the high pressure fighting Williams does might prove difficult for Canelo.

I beleive that's a poor excuse.with 30+ MILLION viewers there's no reason to throw an independent ppv honestly.hes a cash cow.good enough to host at least one fight.with the way hes also getting paid also they may be over doing it.he may end up like berto, alexander if he steps up to comp and lose, another reason why they're avoiding certain fighters.
