I mean floyd mayweather is known with the boxing community but he has to understand he has to make a name for himself with the public before he can demand 5 million and ppv!

Floyd needs to know if he fights zab judah and wins or fights winky wright and wins for only 1.5 million then he surely can pocket more money after that defeat! as for now even as good as floyd is he doesnt put butts in seats arturo gatti put most of those butts in those seats!

Also Juan manuel marquez one of the best in his division needs to understand he has to make a name first before demanding that kinda superstar money!He threw himself out of the mix now no one wants to put up the 50 thousand for his mandatory and he got stripped, reason is he priced himself out of the pacman fight! he said he deserved more money then pacman because he is the champion? even though pacman puts butts in seats. I laughed when Gatti was the fighter setting the terms for his fight with Floyd.....because people only know names.

Little did they know....that Floyd already accomplished far more in his career by beating better opposition, and was generally regarded as a better fighter BEFORE the fight was a prospect.

Basically. I dont care what the "General Public" thinks.

Most of them still think Tyson is the Heavyweight champ.

i agree on the floyd part he did accomplish more and yes the draw to a fight is the big name. i dont know if floyd has a bigger name then gatti but just give the money to the better fighter..the winner make them fight for it not just give the it away

It is sad but it doesnt work that way! its like Opening Movies they have to make a prophet in ticket and ppv buys! if the public doesnt know mayweather or buy tickets to watch him then he is not a commodity no matter how good he is just like jmm, its a business first.

like will smith when his movie made 50 million opening week he got paid 20 mill. You have to attract the fans so the people producing the fights can make their moneys worth.
