Comments Thread For: Wladimir Klitschko in Position To Silence His Doubters

Wladimir Klitschko is a heavyweight enigma: blessed with what most experts agree are by far the best tactical attributes in the division today, yet at the same time blighted by a carelessness which can turn the most routine assignments into a rollercoaster ride.

Corrie Sanders was "run of the mill?" Who wrote this?

Sanders was one of the biggest punchers of his era. Anyone who stepped into the ring with him was taking a risk.

He was a massive under-achiever. He had world class talent but nowhere near a world class resume. His performance vs. Wlad was analogous to Douglas's vs. Tyson - for once in their lives, Sanders and Douglas both performed to their full potential and were world class on that day. And although Sanders had a tremendous combination of speed and explosive power, his KO ratio wasn't that high, especially when you consider that most of his opponents were journeymen. He did get a lot of first or second round KOs though (all but one against journeymen); but anyone who could last three rounds with him was unlikely to be knocked out.

Klitschko will never silence his doubters, no matter what happens Saturday. Even if he impressively knocks out Haye, people will find excuses and explanations.

Wlad will silence some people for sure.......and one of those might be Haye.
But haye is a cruiserweight champ and nobody has been able to beat Haye, so it would be a very good high profile win for Wlad. People know who haye is because he is vocal and dont like to be ignored.

He has earned respect but some of his fights have been downright awful. It's hard to live down that debacle at MSG.

He can't redeem a large chunk of his recent career with a single performance.

Lose - lose situation for Wlad. He gets knocked out by a blown up cruiser weight or knocks one out. I can't wait for Saturday and the aftermath

If Haye is a blown up Cruiserweight then so was Holyfield. And Pacquiao is a blown up Flyweight, and Mayweather is a blown up Super Featherweight.

All the Klitschko fans on here were the ones runnjng him down saying he s a blown up cruiser that is a joke and if he beats their man then they can enjoy their just deserts once the hyped up joke of a cruiser weight walks off with the belts.
If Wlad beats him then by their own admission he was all of the above. Simples

                  Roll on Saturday

What the stans say is irrelevant. All genuine boxing fans know that that is a load of rubbish. Haye is ranked #3 in the division for a reason, and has a combination of power, speed and explosiveness that Wlad hasn't had to face since the Sanders fight. That's why the fight is getting so much interest.
