    Brian Minto a cruiserweight?

Now I know that you can get tricked watching a couple club fightrs beat on each other thinking that they are better then you think but I do think Minto has some skill.

His left hand looked good and I was just thinkng with a few friends on Saturday night that at 212 pounds (at a little soft at that) he could easily come down and make the crusierweight limit and quite possibly contend?

He made 20K for that fight...does anyone think he could beat Wayne Braithwaite who cant get out of the way of a melting iceburg?

If I was Minto's management I would 1)know there is no real future for him at the elite level of the HW division and 2)know there may be a chance for him to make some real noise one division south

Did anyone else think about Minto becoming a crusierweight?

I think that regardless of the weightclass he's in, if he fights the elite fighters (even at cruiserweight), he's going to get smoked. He looked relatively good fighting a club fighter. Put him in there with a washed up fighter who has some decent boxing skills and *some* power, and he'd look like Gatti fighting Mayweather.

I dont disagree but watching a guy like Wayne Braithwaite fight with his amatuer skills makes me wonder why cant Minot beat a guy like that?

The point of the thread is that Minto's only shot at making a few bucks is at cruiser, it may be a long sht but if you are on Team Minot I would be telling my guy to lose the 12 punds and go from there.

Minto's handlers can make him some money at heavyweight, but only if he travels to Germany to fight one of Universim's top guys. Minto will never have a big payday here in america since he cant beat an old fat Toney Tubbs.

I understand what you're saying. If the dude wants a payday thought, he needs to stay a heavyweight. When was the last cruiserweight fight that got media attention? That's what brings the money into the fights.

He's built to be a cruiserweight, however he just lacks the skill to compete with the upper echelon of fighters.

One good thing, the dude lives about half an hour from my hometown. GO GO Western PA!

He made 20K for that fight, fighting a top cruiser would at least bring in a bit more than that, or at least I hope it would.

Im telling you he would beat Braithwaite!
