Comments Thread For: Saul Alvarez's Trainer: We'll Move Up To Fight Chavez

Edison "Chepo" Reynoso, the trainer of WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, has no issues with his boxer moving up to the middleweight division to face Mexican rival, and WBC champion, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Reynoso is so confident that his boxer defeats Chavez that he's willing to agree to a fight at the middleweight limit. Chavez's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, recently proposed a catch-weight of 158-pounds.

I do not see this fight happening.Chavez has no talent,he's just there because of his father's name.I hope Chavez gets in there with Martinez and his ass would get ****d big time.

I agree. As long as either stay away from Martinez they're safe. But Canelo will destroy Chavez Jr. IMO So like you said, make it happen ASAP because Chavez Jr is going to loose soon and the marketability for the fight will fly out the window.

IMO Canelo in a few + years will be the P4P king when Mayweather and Pac retire. I think he's the new Golden Boy so to speak as far as star power...

I think Saul Alvarez would beat Chavez Jr with no problems. I'm pretty sure that Arum will have Chavez Jr vacant his middle weight title before he would put him in the ring against Sergio Martinez.

if he can make a fight at 160lbs, it may as well be with Martinez. Unless they want to promote it as a collision of 2 paper champions!
