Yeah, but it doesn't matter if he was refering to sparring or not, because a week before the fight boxers do light work, relax and try to focus only on the fight. During the fight night their bodies should be at 100%, that's why the last week is only about very light work, not doing 15 rounds and pushing it to the limit.

15 three minute rounds IS light work. Its only about 45 minutes of actual work and about one hour of training total. Thats very little for a pro. Now he was obviously full of it, when he said that he was pushing it to the limit.Yeah, but it doesn't matter if he was refering to sparring or not, because a week before the fight boxers do light work, relax and try to focus only on the fight. exactly, you could do 15 light rounds, but when saying "pushing it to the limit" it automatically means HARD WORKComment

Why are people assuming he's referring to 15 rounds of sparring instead of 15 rounds of mitt work?
Anyway... last night was 1 week before the fight, so their winding down process could've begun on Sunday without infringing on a self imposed 1 week limit to commence it.
15 rounds on the mitts is not light work... especially combining it with the running and all the other workouts boxers do on a normal day.Last edited by Heru; 06-26-2011, 08:15 PM.Comment
