He was based on ''Arnie Gregory'' an australian boxer from the anime series Hajime no ippo.

same look, same nationality.

also they gave him the move dempsey roll, inspired by the anime

I know Arnie!!!

I also know the move "Broddy crosss" as his manager would like to pronounce it

But yeah it was weird how they looked exactly alike and funny thing is arnie came before steve fox in the manga but steve is more popular and came before arnies anime debut!
