Martinez would die before the fight if he tried to make 147. Not going to happen. If they fought at 154 and Paq won, that would be a tremendous accomplishment. Its kind of a lose lose situation for Martinez

No, it would be another shrunk down fighter who isnt his best because he isnt fighting at his best weight. And if Pac beat Martinez that would more than likely be the reason why.

This is kindof like one of those "What if... the sky was falling?" questions. Pointless really, cause it's never gonna happen.

No offense but SMH at trying to discredit someone with a ridiculous hypothetical question (if that's what you're really trying to do). A little like saying "What if someone THOUGHT about raping your little sister?" It's a question posed to incite anger in someone, when in reality it's a baseless idea planted to unfairly bias someone to your point of view.

What if Vitali Klitchko beat Floyd Mayweather @ 180lbs, would you give Vitali credit?

Yea, because you can really compare Pac fighting JMM @ 144 (a weight that JMM regularly comes in to on fight night) to a guy that fights in the JMW division who would easily outweight Pac by 25-30 lbs on fight night. And as far as calling it a "***** move", it's funny how it escapes so many peoples minds that it's Juan who has been running around crying for this fight with Pacquiao, making T-shirts and demanding a third fight NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. I could see if it was Pacquiao who was chasing Juan and obsessing about fighting him, but it's not - he could care less if he fights him again or not. Pac went down in weight to accomodate JMM, and he didn't HAVE to do that.

If Nonito Donaire was running around crying about wanting a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr., should Floyd have to come down in weight to fight Donaire at lets say, 135lbs to make it "fair"???? Come on ya'll... take the hate shades off.

No, he has outgrown that weight years ago.

              Tell me about it.

This is one of the dumbest questions I have seen on here in a long time.

With that said, I think it's equally bad that Martinez lies and says he can't go past 156 to drag a guy who should be fighting at LW-JWW up to that weight.

IMO 152-154 would be the perfect weight for both of these guys to fight, a range in which Martinez can make (with a little hard work).

In the same light as I would not give Martinez credit if he wins a Pacfight at 154.

Martinez would have to drain himself to make 154 no way in hell can he make 147

so you wouldn't have given Marg credit had he beat Manny Pacquiao and I'm assuming you won't give Manny credit if he beats Marquez.

                  right?

Also no matter how you spin it, Marquez and Pacquiao are around the same weight.

We know they are only 2-3lbs apart on fight night, but the day of the weigh in Manny is 141-142 (without cutting weight). If Marquez didn't cut weight he would be around that same weight on the day of the weigh in, but he drops 5-6lbs of water weight to make 135.

When Pacquiao was training for the Clottey and Margarito fight, Roach stated that Manny dipped as low as 138, so again Manny is defiantly not much bigger than Marquez.

I do agree though that Marquez has been calling out Manny, so he should come to him, especially since Manny has several options and doesn't need him. Marquez has the losing record and this is his only huge payday so of course he has to meet Manny's demands.

I think you are correct. Although I will still watch Pac-JMM fight, Pacman doesn't get a lot of credit on this one. It's just a "closure" or "this should shut the fakk up JMM already" kind of fight.
