People do not know what boxing is.It's about landing shots and taking less shots.Alexander was throwing combinations and moving,he had better defence.If you check in slow motion most of Matthyse's shots were not landing.Yes Matthyse threw harder shots but he was simply outboxed.I had Alexander winning by 2 rounds even though he was knocked down.Alexander proved he's a great fighter with better ring generalship.Matthyse is a good fighter but he relies on his power too much.Unfortunately he will be losing a lot of fights in the future because other boxers will find a way of beating him.After some time Matthyse will be having so many of these losses he will start looking like a bum.

you are right about devon's defense - he did slip and weave a lot of lucas' shots. but he was also getting clipped, tagged, and busted up too. he took some hearty body shots. also, devon didn't LAND any nice, hard shots. well, he did, but they were few and far between. he doesn't step into his jab, nor sit down on his straight, hooks, or uppercuts. he "pulls" his punches back.

I don't know if it was a robbery, but there was some home cooking here. but you are right, lucas just plowed forward throwing bomb after bomb, looking silly at points with alexander slipping and ducking around him. Lucas won that fight, though. Devon knows it.

There's about 6 or 7 better fights than Alexander at JWW, which is funny because about a year ago many people and him at number 1. I think i had him at number 2 before the Kotelnim fight.

His last 3 fights he has been beaten IMHO.

The facts are Lucas threw more, landed more.Landed the more effective,cleaner and more hurtful shots. He scored a KD as well. Looks like a clear Matthysse win to me but i will watch the fight again later on.

Ho hum, another gift for Alexander in his hometown. Outboxed by Kotelnik or outfought by Matthysse, it doesn't matter, he still gets the decision. Airshots, grunts and holding are apparantly qualities judges look for in fighters nowadays.

I just rewatched the fight with the sound off and i gave Alexander 3 rds and that generous.

Lucas undoubtedly punished Alexander on numerous occasions. I believe Alexander at some point in the fight was contemplating quitting mid-through the fight.

Alexander will get smashed by the top 5. Maidana take his heart and soul away from him too.
