I have nothing against Cunningham, but this is the same road he led Spinks down after taking him to the JMW belt. I think he would be great as an amateur trainer because he can teach certain fundamentals really well, but he fails to give proper instruction and adjustment advice. Regardless of whats been said about Devon, he showed great heart and pure raw talent, but that's not going to get him to where he needs to go. He needs a trainer who can maximize all his gifts, and get him punching the way he needs to punch on the pro level. He has power, but he doesn't set up his power shots or commit to the body. I hope we see something change soon, because the same thing that happen to Spinks, will eventually happen to him if not.
Kevin Cunningham is turning Alexander into Corey Spinks.

Yeah, I hear you. It's kind of frusterating to watch him because his potential is so much better than what he's been doing. His movement and puch patterns have become so predictable. He desparatley needs to switch it up now and then. A change of trainer would be best I think.
Unfortunatley I don't think he'll leave Cunningham unless things get really bad though, he's been his trainer since Devon was 7.Last edited by Visceral; 06-26-2011, 05:37 AM.Comment
