Kirkland's camp feels now is the time to step up his opposition. They are very pleased by what they saw tonight #boxing #boxeo

Ishe Smith is also on the list of potential opponents for Kirkland. Inquiries
will begin immediately for the July 23 bout #boxing #boxeo

I will temper my excitement and say that Kirkland looked sharp taking out Sharpe. HE looked physically solid and that fire was back

Ishe Smith would be a horrible fight for Kirkland imo

      That's quite the step-up.

If he can beat Smith he could silence a lot of people.

      Huge risk though.

I dont see it, he's no way blasting smith out, and smith is a better boxer.

Exactly. I think Ishe is all wrong for Kirkland. A defensive counter-puncher with decent power. They may want to re-think this fight. But then again Ishe is known to choke when a real good opportunity is in front of him to make himself bigger, so then again this may just be the right fight for Kirkland. Depends on what Ishe shows up.

I think he should take up a tune up and be on mayweather-ortiz card facing Mayorga

Mayorga would likely kill him at this stage

Kirkland can probably take Smith at this point, IMO.

If not, Maybe Matthew Hatton at 154 is more like it?

I'm sorry but he fought 1 round against a glorified sparring partner... how in the hell is that an indicator he should step up his opposition when he is only a couples months removed from a 1rd beatdown against a journeyman.

Holy ***** that'd be a ****in war! I'm all for it! Hopefully Kirkland can prove all the haters wrong! I thought he showed some minor improvements, nothing to hold your breathe about since it was a glorified sparring partner but I don't care I want to see him in a ****in war with Anne Wolfe having his back.
