Hopkins-Pascal II was the highest rated HBO fight in a couple years. HBO is retarted in their reasoning believing that will translate into a good PPV.

The reason Hopkins-Pascal II did so well was for one, the first fight was entertaining, and two it was for history.

Chad Dawson can't attract flies to **** and everyone knows this is a style matchup that won't be very exciting.

    With that said

    WAR BHOP!!!!!

LOL. Just curious, what are the last three PPV's you DID buy?

I'm buying it. Two of my favorite fighters. Both of them coming off wins against top fighters. I bought Pacquiao-Mosley, why not Hopkins-Dawson?

I'm buying, or at least putting half in the following...Mayweather-Ortiz, Pacquiao-Marquez III, Hopkins-Dawson and just for the hell of it i'll go half and half on Margarito-Cotto II, two C level fighters but it should be a war nonetheless. The worst match up there is Pacquiao-Marquez III but what the hell, Marquez is one of my favorites so i'll show him support.

I just don't see how this fight is gonna translate to PPV buys with the casual fan. PPV for this fight is so unnecessary. HBO's pockets can't be hurting that bad because we are only half way into the year.
You are right, 300k would probably be a huge success with this fight, given who the fighters are and what their drawing powers are. But I have a feeling GBP has something up their sleeves to promote this fight to get the most PPV's/most tickets it can get.

This fight can be heavily co-promoted in Montreal with Pascal and Diaconu on the card in separate fights against decent-good opponents. There you would have the tickets ordeal out of the way, Canadians will come to watch 2 Canadians + they get the main event with two other fighters that they're familiar with in Hopkins vs Dawson. Then you'll have the HBO PPV's to sell, that would be the hard part, but with the right promotion, a very good promotion at that, I think this fight can do some decent numbers.

I really think GBP should co-promote with Pascal and Diaconu's promoters to have them on the undercard, and have the fight in Montreal. That would sell over 10k tickets for sure, close to 20k.

You can have Pascal vs Miranda, since I heard Miranda is at 175 now. The Montreal crowd knows who Miranda is because of his TKO loss to Bute. That would be an exciting fight while it lasts.

You can have Diaconu vs Andrade, have Andrade come up of course. Andrade is another guy who is known in Montreal. There you would have a card of 6 fighters who are familiar in the Montreal area, and all 3 match ups are pretty good if you ask me.

I would mention Cloud, but he only fights once a year and he's already wasting that one fight on a non-top 10 ranked LHW Yusaf Mack later, then he'll go back to where ever he goes for a whole year.

They shoud make this a mega card with two championships in one night.
Hopkins vs Dawson & Pascal vs Cloud or Erdei that would be awesome.

HBO out of money again, what a surprise.

This PPV is going to bomb badly.

BHop Blows Out Dawson, Then Go Beat BOTH Klitschkos!

Bhop is afraid of NOBODY. Martinez won't move up to fight Bhop. David Haye is about to get knocked out by a Klitschko. Holyfield won't fight a guy his age named Bernard Hopkins, so BHop just as well clean out Dawson, then go beat both Klitschkos to become the first to unify both the Light Heavyweight AND Heavyweight Divisions, and then retire. Sound far fetched??? Don't bet against Hopkins. That would be legendary and very attainable for Hopkins. SOMEONE, please ask BHOP!!!!!!!

good fight for bhops, but they better stacked the undercard, cause there's no way the PPV sales are going to do good. i'm not sure if i wanna pay for this....
