Why didn't Floyd Sr. accompany Floyd Jr.during the latter's Olympic dream?

Floyd Mayweather Sr. was the trainer of Floyd Mayweather Jr. since the latter was born. No, Senior was allowed to accompany Lil' Floyd to the Olympics even though it wouldn't be of an "official" capacity. Similar to Karoli's accompanying of gymnast Marilou Retton.

But poor Lil' Floyd looked around the stadium looking for his father in all of his fights and couldn't find his beloved father anywhere.

Does anyone know why Floyd sr. never showed up for Floyd jr.'s biggest moment upt to that period in his life?

maybe the olympic committee also tested the trainers/coaches of the athletes participating... hence, senior got busted and was sent to jail...
