    El Perro vs Canelo?

Who is for this fight? I hope it takes place in not too long, Angulo has deserved a title shot for some time now. He also held interim WBO title. He's been stripped by now I guess. I think Angulo beats Canelo, unless the inactivity has made him rusty. Hope not.

I think it would play out something similar to the Joel Julio fight.

Alfredo "Perro" Angulo may be rusty. He should poke around with one or two small fights, then El Canelo Alvarez. Close fight.

It would make a good scrap. One that would take Canelo out of his comfort zone. How do you stop someone with heavy hands, and eats punches like MnM? (no plaster needed).

If they fought now I'd probably give the edge to Canelo but if Angulo got a tune up or 2 to shake that rust off he'd destroy him.

In truth, it's an easy enough fight to make. Canelo makes fights in Mexico worth something for HBO and Golden Boy and the guy sells out arenas. So, it's obvious that the fight can be made with Angulo's unique circumstances.

However, I do think that both need a fight or two before it happens. First of all, Angulo may be rusty and he isn't so far removed from being handled by Kermit Cintron. Canelo, on the other hand, needs to face someone like Pawel Wolak, to get in there with a decent puncher who comes to fight. It would be good preparation and a quality win.

If both got solid wins out of the way, a fight early next year would make sense, it would sell and would be bigger than it would be now. Perhaps a double-header in the meantime.

Nonetheless, I'm in favor of this fight.
