Roy Jones Jr Should have Retired after beating John Ruiz

I think Roy should have retired after beating ruiz, And to think he was in the works to fight mike tyson but it didnt fall through so he had to go with tarver for what he thought would be easy money.Tyson would have murdered him.

    Who agrees?

Difficult to say. The Tyson that showed up during that period when he would have fought Roy (June 2004?) only had 2 - 2 1/2 rounds in him. I reckon Roy could have done that.

You're right, though, for Roy's legacy he was at a pinnacle with the Ruiz win.

Tyson would have hurt him, I think. Especially since he'd be fighting someone his own size and wouldn't have to worry about the opponent putting their weight on him to wear him out.

Jones could have lasted rounds with Tyson after 2002

Some people say If he chose tyson instead of tarver it would have been a better move! Since he could have ran around like he did with ruiz and hunt and peck. If roy fought tyson and beat him by ud he would have retired the greatest fighter who ever lived. But he got exposed as a fraud he made all the right decisions he was a calculating business man but he made his first mistake in fighting tarver.

Just like Ray Leonard was exposed as a fraud agasinst Camacho and Norris?

              Come off it.

Roy got old, and his speed and reflex left him.

Fighters get shot, that doesn't take away from what they had accomplished prior to that.

Roy Jones would have been demolished by the Tyson who quit against McBride. The instant Tyson laid a glove on him, head or body, Roy would be on ***** street and then Tyson would have tasted blood and gone to town on him. The only reason Tyson folded against McBride was because he couldn't hurt him. Roy simply doesn't have the bone structure to take a Tyson left hook.
