Hatton wouldnt have "gotten away with it" on Box Office.
Oh, well IDK about Sky. I just know about the WBU isn't a title to take serious. Nobody cares about it. Nobody considered that a legit title reign.

Hatton reign didn't start until he beat Kostya.

So what? Of course they did that's the promoter job to do so and any fighter who wins any type of belt for the first time will be proud of it.

Do you know about many WBF, IBA champs are out there walking around as if they have a legit world title? Are you going to make threads about them and their "title reign" as well?

No, it's because his career was always a little suspect. He fought a very faded Kostya Tzsyu, and then got fairly handled by Floyd (with an embarrassing ring post KO) followed two lackluster performances and then annihilation by Pacquiao.

It would have been less humiliating for him had he given Pacquiao his due, but he was incessantly devaluing and undermining the credibility and accomplishments of his opponent at every opportunity in advance of their contest. Furthermore, he actually thought that the P4P accolade is something that can be passed from vanquished to successor as is done with a championship. He also had a reputation as a dirty fighter.

Lest we forget, there was the abrupt and unceremonious dismissal of his trainer who went on to sue for payment of services rendered. It was settled out of court, which means to me that there was at least a little merit in the suit.

He gets a lot of ****, but people often forget why he gets it. Most people don't spell it out. People like him and that's fine, but I don't and there is why.

and what is the wbu title worth?

about as much as the usaba or nabf or other regional titles.

he went on to fight kostya , floyd and pac for more meaningful titles.

          so who cares?

hatton threw away his career when he turned his back on the wbu. he could have been up to 50 defenses by now.
