Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.

"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."
Floyd Mayweather Jr. rejected promoter Bob Arum's $8 million offer to fight welterweight titlist Antonio Margarito, and he instead exercised a provision in his contract to buy Arum out.

I don't consider what floyd did ducking, his plan was to let the guys fight each other and he'll comeback and fight the best, but pac ****ed that plan all up. Floyd doesn't like fighting that much so i could understand that. margo and cotto weren't big draws.

Enough with these old articles. Let's bring on some new ones.

        Team Pacquiao Selects Next Opponent
        By Gordo Marley (June 2011)

For all you boxing fans who thought Manny Pacquiao's next fight was suppose to be Floyd Mayweather you are sadly mistaken. Today was the Manny Pacquiao Juan Manuel Marquez conference call and you might wanna take a listen to what Manny had to say.

GORDO MARLEY: Manny is this fight with Juan Manuel Marquez somehow a way to prepare for a possible superfight with Floyd Mayweather?

MANNY PACQUIAO: Uhh, no. Uhhh, Marquez is a great fighter and there will be alot of boxing in the ring.

GORDO MARLEY: What do you think about Mayweather's return to face Victor Ortiz?

        MANNY PACQUIAO: Uhhh...

        -Bob Arum cuts in-

BOB ARUM: It's a disgrace to the sport! How dare Mayweather fight a young lion! He's ducking Paulie Malignaggi. He should be fighting the magic man.

GORDO MARLEY: Manny if you and Floyd were to get past your next opponents will you be willing to give into Mayweather's demands and take the tests...

BOB ARUM: MAYWEATHER DOES NOT WANT THE FIGHT! If he wanted the fight he would agreed to OUR demands and make it at 135. Now enough with this Mayweather talk, NEXT!

As I was about to ask my next question I was hung up on. So I couldn't hear the rest of the conference call, however I was in contact with Big D from ESPN the whole time and he said after Marquez, Pacquiao's next fight would be former Middleweight world champion Felix Trinidad at a catchweight of 155 pounds for the vacant WBC Middleweight Topez Filipino Championship. Meaning if Pacquiao wins he'll be the only fighter in history to be a 9 time world champion in 9 different weight classes. Bob then went on a 2 hour rant how Floyd is lying and that how he turned down 1billion dollars to fight Pacquiao in Vancouver. Bob Arum left the conference call with this quote "If Mayweather wants the fight he needs to agree to all our demands, including a 90/10 split, a 135 weight limit with a re-hydration clause of up to 144, and there will be NO testing for the fight! If he doesn't agree, he's ducking the fight!"

FLoyds got a lot of making up to do to satisfy people now onwards.
Lets be serious. Margarito and Cotto though good fighters were only good for each other. Cotto could never handle a quick handed fighter, though he showed heart and grit. His stamina was always in question from the running in the Shane Mosley fight and PAC fight. Cotto is a good fighter but his luster now a days is in match making. He will never be any better than he was when he fought Margarito and gassed out in the end with a big lead. No defense and ring generalship to know how to hold, use your feet avoid wide looping punches showed in itself that he wouldnt be able to adjust against Floyd.

Margarito light deemed from the Paul Williams fight and his performance in the first half of the Clottey fight. There is no way Margarito deserved a fight with PAC after cheating or attempting to cheat against Mosley. Banned for life and brought up on charges wouldve been a suitable payment for such transgressions.

Yeah! Just like Floyd said Pac is one dimensional, overrated, easy money and easy fight but has no balls to fight him without his fake OST.

He is fighting Ortiz now. Shouldn't that cancel out those other two or at least one?
