She may well have been persuaded, but I doubt she was actually given any money. This case reeked of BS from the very start. The fact that it ended with a whimper comes as absolutely no surprise. In fact, you could've predicted it.

Valero's wife dropped her charges against him a few weeks before he killed her. Not saying Gamboa is another Valero but it's always a very bad sign when an abused wife drops charges against her abuser - it often leads to something worse.

Just like you could have predicted that Valero's wife would drop her charges against him. Except that wasn't where it ended, and it seldom is.

Touche. But, as you pointed out, also two different cases.

Lest my comments be misinterpreted, this is what I meant by my earlier statement: Given the limited information we had on Gamboa's matter, I saw it as very likely a case of emotions gone awry. It appeared that Yuri's wife wanted to take their child with her after an argument and he attempted to stop her by grabbing her.

I don't condone abuse of any kind...of any kind. A heated argument between a man and his woman? Happens all day long, every day. Should the man (or woman) strike their partner? Of course not. Should the woman (or man) attempt to leave the house with the couple's child, without consent of the other party? Of course not. Is physical restraint reasonable in such a case? Yes. This appears to be what happened in Gamboa's incident. There was never any evidence of excessive bodily restraint by him. And that is why it's no surprise that Yuri's wife dropped the charges.

Cool deal if he can get everything ironed out and leave his wife alone. As for the fights I want to see him in would be against Micky Garcia and maybe even Donaire if he ends up moving up. All those fights would be awesome.
