More like GBP and HBO will take Top Rank and Showtime to school with this one, and show them how to really do it.

A guy who has never been on PPV vs Mayweather, will outsell Pacquiao-Mosley with the same type of promotion.

Anyways, it's good when they try to outdo themselves, better for mainstream boxing.

He's playing dumb cause he just left the 2ND largest media company in the world to do business with the 4TH largest media company in the world., and he wants to keep the door open with HBO.

You people respect this guy like he's a saint, but he is nothing more than a common street hustler out for the biggest check he can find. He has turned his fans into propaganda puppets, who support his every move even if it means bad business for the sport.

HBO should say **** this guy and out with old in with new, because he is one brutal Mayweather azz kicking away from being just another a nostalgic figure to only his fan boys.

      He already told you....
      QUOTE]

With all due respect, this post is ridiculous. Do you really think Manny secretly plotted with Time Magazine to get named one of the most influential people in the world? Do you not think that has anything to do with his worldwide popularity?

What is worse is that you compared Manny to a common street hustler? Are you serious? Why hasn't anyone responded to this nonsense?

Oh yeah, and about the "bad business for the sport". HBO goes to 30 million homes in America, where CBS goes to over 100 million homes in America. That's much more exposure for our forgotten sport to the public. How is that bad business?
Time Warner is the 2nd largest media conglomerate in the world this is fact. Time Warner provides the budgeting and resources to Time magazine, and HBO because they are subsidiaries. Pacquiao being on HBO, and in Time magazines generates more revenue for Time Warner, and this is common knowledge to most engaged in the business of media. CBS is owned by Viacom, which is the forth largest media conglomerate in the world. Exposure is not boxing's problem, it's selective match making, horrible score cards, media shills, and inadequate PED testing. Boxing is not far from forgotten, it's reputatation is tainted. Big Difference.

As far as the street hustler comment, any man who has repeatedly cheated on his spouse, has been with **********s, gambles endorses ********, has multiple law suits pending for breach of contracts, and smiles in my face and says it's 100% GOD is a hustler.

Biggest bolded lie ever. Seriously, Max Kellerman over Antonio Tarver? You must be heartbroken so much that Puerto Rico lost too many champions this year.

          Seriously, Max Kellerman?

Maybe not. Pac definitely did not sell on Showtime. If you believe that lie that Bob Arum fed people about the Pac/Mosley fight selling 1.3 million PPVs, I have a big white house on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. that I am willing to sell you dirt cheap. That fight did not even break the 1 million mark and probably sold less than Pac/Clottey. It is obvious that the media bought that lie. In this story, Rafael reported this number as a fact instead of Arum's claim.

You will have to take my word for it about the big white house that I have for sell. As for the PPV numbers being a lie, that is an opinion, just like every other comment on this site.

However, I can give you a couple of FACTS that have been reported on this site and others: 1) Arum claimed that the Cotto/Pac fight did 1.6 million. When HBO released the numbers, it was 1.2 million; 2) Arum claimed that Pac/Margarito did 1.5 million PPVs. When HBO released the numbers, it was actually 1.1 million; 3) Bob, "I was lying yesterday; today, I am telling the truth" Arum has a long history of lying; 4) Showtime has not released the official PPV numbers for the Pac/Mosley fight.

Based on those facts, it is my opinion that Arum is lying about the numbers. The reason I say that is for two reasons: 1) Mosley has never been a major PPV attraction. His fights with Cotto and Margarito were on HBO Championship Boxing, not PPV. He has always been the B-side of a PPV event. If he had fought Pac right after he beat Margarito, I could see Pac/Mosley selling 1.3 million PPV. However, he fought him after he had his ass handed to him by Mayweather and fought a draw against Mora. I do not believe that 1.3 million people would pay to see this washed up fighter against Pacquaio, especially since Pac's biggest selling PPVs (both selling 1.2 million) have been against guys who do draw well on PPV (De La Hoya and Cotto); 2) When one of the networks refuses to release PPV numbers, that has traditionally been a sign that the fight bombed on PPV.

What is sad about this situation is that it appears that no one in the boxing media has bothered to try to get the official numbers from Showtime. They have all just accepted Arum's claim as fact and report it as fact like they did in this story.
