The former super featherweight champion of the WBO, Roman "Rocky" Martinez, who according to a source on BoxingScene.com will become a free agent on Wednesday, might have his "free agent status" challenged because PR Best Boxing Promotions, headed by Ivan Rivera, is alleging that his contract was extended by eight months because Martinez suffered a back injury and withdrew from a scheduled fight against Luis "El Artesano" Cruz. Rivera states that Martinez's contract has a clause that extends his promotional agreement in the event of an injury.

Martinez & the useless Rivera Bros(P.R Best Boxing) wanted the fight in P.R but Martinez was offered more money to go to Scotland & he decided to take the extra dough...& Burns beat Martinez fare & square, it wasn't like Martinez got robbed & Burns got a hometown decision..& if Martinez & Cruz(Artesano) would have fought, it would have been for the #1 contender spot & the winner would have been the mandatory for Burns..So Burns ain't hiding from no one..

On top of that, Martinez is a fool for not signing a rematch clause with Burns. If he hadn't been injured, he or Cruz would have been on course for a mandatory. PRBOXINGCOTTO gets butthurt every time a PR boxer loses and makes excuses every time.
