Trainer Freddie Roach, speaking to The Daily Telegraph, gave his opinion on why WBA champion David Haye is great for the heavyweight. Haye faces WBO/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko on July 2 in Hamburg. Roach feels the Klitschko brothers are boring figthers who are not risktakers.

Bull****. And Haye is *exciting?" Like his thrilling match versus Valuev where he threw 10 punches a round? And his fixed fight with Harrison where the referee had to beg him to throw punches?

This thing about Haye being "exciting" in comparison to the Klitschkos just doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

He says the Klitschkos don't "go for it." I can see that criticism applying to a couple of Wlad's fights, but to none of Vitali's. When has Vitali ever not "gone for it?"

The answer is: never.

Yes i did Tunney, overall Haye is far more exciting in and out of the ring. Unless ur blind. It does not make wlad any less of a fighter, but he IS boring. He gets the wins tho, so in the end thats what matters. Haye(like him or not) is great for the sport.

I don't see how you can call a guy who stages a fixed fight with an old pal, admitting he bet on a result that they both then made happen, thus ripping off his own fans and infuriating his TV network, "great for the sport."

It's also unfair to lump the brothers together if one's criticism is with Wlad. Wlad has admitted he doesn't have Vitali's killer instinct, but he's working on it. He did better last time out against Sam Peter.

Vitali always "goes for it." Vitali is never boring, though he's had a couple of boring opponents (Kevin Johnson, step right up). Freddie Roach comes out with this crap before every big Klitschko fight. His ego is still hurt because Wlad dumped him.
