Pavlik hasn't a cats in hell chance of beating Bute. Pavlik is back on liquor, boxing isn't in his interests anymore. Pavlik is DONE.

Bute by stoppage inside 5 rounds.

It will be interesting to see how Bute's stamina holds up if it goes to the late rounds, Pavlik will certainly make him work every round.

Can Bute stop Pavlik ? I don't think he can but with the way Pavlik has been recently, there's a chance.

I think Bute wins a decision but Pavlik does have a good chance.

He ducked Jean Pascal FOUR times!!!

        Pascal: ‘Bute needs more balls’
        Posted on Jul 9, 2011

Former light-heavyweight world champion Jean Pascal has hit out at IBF super-middleweight titleholder Lucian Bute for ducking him.

Pascal revealed that Bute has turned down an offer to fight him four times saying the undefeated fighter continually faced opponents that are ‘below his level’.

And with the Canadian-based Romanian defending his title today against 37-year-old veteran Jean Paul Mendy in a fight that will be aired for free on Primetime, Pascal called for Bute to ‘get more balls’.

‘After my fight against Bernard Hopkins we offered Lucian Bute to fight me next this fall, and he said no,’ Pascal told the On The Ropes boxing radio show.

‘So I was really disappointed because I think Lucian Bute’s fans deserve more than that. Lucian Bute is a great fighter but he’s always fighting boxers below his level, and he needs to step up his game and fight boxers of his caliber.

‘So you know we offered him to fight me for the fourth time, and he said no. So I was really disappointed by him. Lucian Bute needs to get more balls, to risk himself a little bit, to try to roll the dice because one day it’s going to catch him.

‘Anyone can be the pound-for-pound boxer when they seek out boxers. Once when he’s in a fight with a real boxer, he’s going to see adversity and he’s not going to be able to do anything because it’s going to be his first time facing adversity.’

First of all let's put things into context...Pascal is a light heavyweight and bute is a super middle weight. In regular life Pascal walks around at around 190-195 lbs!!! and fights at 175 lbs. Bute's camp never refused Pascal. They basically told him to lose some weight and agree on a catchweight since it is the fair thing to do. Pascal refuses to do this. He expects Bute (who is a supermiddle weight champ) to gain weight just to fight a bigger, stronger guy.... In regular day to day life Pascal has over 20 lbs on Bute and we all know that even if the in the weigh in Pascal is at 176 lbs, the day of the fight he is around 186 lbs. It is not a fair match up. He keeps calling Bute but does not want to fight in Bute's category and does not want to agree to a catchweight.
Pascal how about you grow some balls and agree to a catchweight fight. Why should the IBF champion gain weight just to make you happy and fight you in your weight class which you are used to? I think Pascal is the one who is afraid to fight Bute and set in place some rules which he knows Bute and his camp would not agree to. I bet it hurts not to be the most loved boxer in Quebec

Change my vote, Bute would be first to stop Pavlik. Pavliks done.. I hope Showtime finds a different opponent for Bute unless Pavlik shows something great in his next fight.

Too bad they can't get Kessler, he'd be perfect as Bute's next opponent.

It would be a competitive fight at a high level of boxing skill, like Kessler-Calzaghe was.

Pavlik is done. He looked horrible in his last fight, I expect Bute to end his career.

That would be a great match up. I'd like to see Bute fight Kessler before taking on Ward or Froch(whoever wins).

This fight is now slated for November 5, and will be televised by Showtime.

Of course Pavlik needs to defeat Darryl Cunningham first. Hopefully he's not back on the booze.

Easy fight for Bute in my opinion. Bute will probably take a lot of s*** from the hardcore boxing fans but Pavlik is "a name" that the general public knows so it would be a bigger show than a Jean-Paul Mendy. Win-win for him I guess.

Pavlik exposes the bum beater. I like Bute but he is a bum beater.
