    What's Froch going to do?

Get point deductions for trying to man handle Ward.

He's too unconventional though, borderline wild. I don't know, couldn't see Froch beating a lot of the people he's beaten. But he always finds a way.

This may be a step too far though.

Steward doesn't exactly pick him, he seems to give him a shot.

        Nice comments, especially these,

"People used to say to me the kid has plenty of self-belief but he's not very good. This was before he had knocked out Jermain Taylor in America.

But they were wrong. Champions are made inside, and Froch is a tough guy inside. That's the one thing all the best guys who I have worked with – they are mentally tough, arrogant, confident."

"You cannot underestimate his talent. A real tough man, and he's starting to polish his skills now."

        Incidentally, speaking to the parallel Manny draws with Haye;

I don't think Haye is as confident as the front he's putting on. Since the fight got made, he'll have been pep-talking himself back into a mindset of confidence - but I've gotten a sense of some gnawing self-doubt re. his ability to beat Klitschko since he won that paper title, giving him something to protect, and I suspect they're still there buried away under the layers of swag.

Froch's self-belief is true, total self-belief. Not that fronting stuff.

          good post, agreed.

haye knows deep down he hasn't fought the best in his division while froch has fought bonafide tough guys and world class boxers.

agreed.. Not taking anything away from Froch.. But he his slow as hell with a leaky defense. Ward is gonna pick him apart... If old man Johnson can land clean rights whenever he felt like it, Im sure Ward will be fine..

                What does this mean?

Ali was unconventional so was RJJ.

Did you happen to see the Abraham performance, a disciplined masterclass.

The guy was world class amateur, why are you suggesting the guy can't boxed.

It is not beyond the realms of possiblity that Froch can pull this off with a good game plan and execution. He needs to use his jab, and push Ward back on the ropes and when he is there hit him wherever he can. I definitely see some points being deducted in this fight, Ward will try and hold, and both guys will be hitting in the clinches. I hope the referee doesn't take this fight away from Froch and referees in a neutral manner.

All in all I favour Ward, he is a very good fighter and can be effective in any position in the ring I think he will pull out a tough ud.

Froch will not have to worry about what powder puff Ward throws, Ward will have to worry what Froch does.

Froch done Johnson in 2 gear.
